INSIGHTS ASSOCIATION PRIVACY NOTICE

The Insights Association (or “our” or “we”) values the privacy of its members, customers, subscribers, and others who visit, share information or use services (collectively or individually, “Members”) on the www.insightsassociation.org website (the “Website”) and any other websites, applications or services owned or operated by the Insights Association (the Website, any other websites, applications, or services directly owned, offered or operated by the Insights Association are collectively referred to as the “Services”).
The Information the Insights Association Collects
Personally Identifiable Information. You may provide personally identifiable information to the Insights Association, including, but not limited to, your name, email address, postal mailing address, home/mobile telephone number, credit card number, and billing information (collectively “PII” or “personally identifiable information”). PII may be collected, without limitation, in connection with your registration as a member of the Insights Association, attendance (or participation as a speaker or vendor) at an Insights Association conference, receipt of electronic newsletters, participation in our certification or other training programs, or your viewing of content on the Website. In addition, you may choose to post certain personally identifiable information to your public “profile” on the Website such as email address, telephone number, mailing address, personal photos, avatars, descriptions of occupation, title, employer, interests, and related comments.
Cookies. When you visit the Website, we may send one or more cookies—small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters—to your device. The Website uses both session cookies and performance cookies, which are persistent. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Website. Specifically, performance cookies are in place so that traffic patterns and uses on the Website may be measured and optimized.
The Insights Association collects cookies on our Web site to capture information about page visits. This information is anonymous, and the Insights Association uses this information only internally - to deliver the most effective content to our visitors. Information from the cookies is used to gauge page popularity, analyze traffic patterns on our site and guide development of other improvements to our site. The Insights Association does not require that you accept cookies, however, some functionality on our Web site, our product or service check-out process, and products and services may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. You may also change your cookie settings through preferences options in our products and/or services, where applicable. The Insights Association never gives away information about our users. If you choose to e-mail us and provide personally identifiable information about yourself, the Insights Association will use this information only to respond to your inquiry. The Insights Association will not sell, rent or otherwise disclose that information to third parties unless such disclosure is necessary for the purposes set forth in this Policy, by law or a policy or notice contained or associated with a specific Insights Association product or service.
The Insights Association uses analytics data and the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website. Site visitors may opt out of the DoubleClick cookie by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page or they may opt out of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page.

You can prevent the setting of such cookies by changing your settings within your browser. Furthermore, you can adjust your browser so that the browser asks you for permission before each cookie is dropped on your device. How the Insights Association Uses Your Information
In General. The Insights Association uses the PII that we collect so that we may provide you with the Services. For example, we will use your email address for administrative purposes such as sending your account activation, member account access, and “welcome” emails, notifying you of major Website updates, for customer service purposes, or to contact you regarding any of the activities on the Website or any other Services in which you may be participating. The Insights Association uses your email address to send you activity emails, newsletters, and notices about special events, products, or services available from the Insights Association or on the Website.
Public Profiles. When you create a profile on the Website, you may post, at your option, certain personal and professional information that will be publicly displayed, or only displayed to other Members, on the Website.
Usage tracking. As described more specifically in the Cookies section above, the Insights Association tracks user traffic patterns throughout the Website, to improve the user experience and interactions of Members.
Search terms. The Insights Association may track search terms that users enter in our “Search function.” We use tracking information to determine which areas of the Website users prefer. To better customize the content that is most relevant to you, we may also track what individual users read on the Website, this helps us continuously improve our offerings.
When the Insights Association Discloses Information
The Insights Association may occasionally share your PII with other organizations for marketing or promotional uses. Typically, such organizations will be affiliated with the Insights Association (such as various local or regional chapters of the Insights Association) or must themselves be members of the Insights Association. The PII may also be shared with Exhibitors at Insights Association conferences for marketing and promotional purposes. When you register as a member, you have the option to “opt-out” of any such sharing of your PII.
We may also disclose some types of PII to certain third parties or other businesses or persons who provide web site hosting, maintenance and security services, fulfill orders, offer certain functionality, help improve or create new features on our website, among other services that assist the Insights Association in its mission.
The Insights Association may disclose PII if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws or respond to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena, or warrant. In some cases, and at our sole discretion, we may make such disclosures without providing notice to you.
We also reserve the right to disclose PII that we believe, in good faith is appropriate or necessary to: take precautions against liability; protect the Insights Association from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses; investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations; assist government enforcement agencies; protect the security or integrity of the Website; and to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Insights Association members or other persons.
You may, of course, decline to share your PII with the Insights Association in which case you will not be able to fully participate (or participate at all) on the Website and the Services in general. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting account access. However, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account/member identification at all times.
Commitment to Data Security
The Insights Association uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of personally identifiable information. The Insights Association operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. We periodically review and enhance our security and privacy policies as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our users, customers, sponsors and members. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A GUARANTEE THAT SUCH INFORMATION MAY NOT BE ACCESSED, DISCLOSED, ALTERED, OR DESTROYED BY BREACH OF ANY OF OUR PHYSICAL, TECHNICAL, OR MANAGERIAL SAFEGUARDS.
Commitment to Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, the Insights Association does not knowingly collect or maintain PII on the Website from persons under 13 years-of-age, and no part of the Website is directed to persons under 13. If you are under 13 years of age, then please do not use or access the Website at any time or in any manner. If the Insights Association learns that PII of persons less than 13-years-of-age has been collected, then the Insights Association will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.
If you are a parent or guardian who has discovered that your child has submitted his or her personal information without your permission or consent, the Insights Association will take reasonable steps to remove that information from its database at your request. To request removal of your child's information, please send us an e-mail at email@example.com and be sure to include in your message the same user name, password, and e-mail address that your child submitted.
If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States and by providing your personal data, you consent to that transfer.
In the Event of Merger or Sale
In the event that the Insights Association is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity, we reserve the right to transfer or assign the information we have collected from members, customers, sponsors and users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.
