Smarty Pants market research and strategic consulting firm announced that it has added Tess Davison as “Insights Whiz.” Davison supports key educational, entertainment and toy accounts on all phases of the research and analysis process across qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method and secondary initiatives.

Davison recently obtained a Master of Arts in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her graduate studies—and complementary role as a teaching assistant—focused on children’s education and entertainment as well as the ethics, data collection and analytics of behavioral research.

Davison is a graduate of Harvard University, where she majored in Psychology, minored in Theater, Dance and Media, and earned a citation in French. Her passion for children’s research was incubated during her tenure as a research assistant as Harvard’s Lab for Developmental Studies. Outside of the classroom, Davison was active in musical theatre and taught middle schoolers dance and improv at CityStep, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based arts and social impact organization that unites college students and city school children through self-expression, collaboration and mentorship.

Following her time at Harvard, Davison spent three years as an assistant to agents, casting directors and actors at Paradigm Talent Agency in New York City. She was also a successful standardized test prep tutor and college admissions consultant for high school students.

Commenting on Davison’s appointment, Smarty Pants Insights Guru and business unit leader Kara Liebeskind, Ph.D. states, “Tess is a rare combo of academic prowess, creative genius and dynamic leader-in-training. She is a smarty pants through and through, and her contributions have created real business impact.”

Davison is based in New York City.
